5 Farm Fun Facts

Did you know:

1. Each stallion groom takes care of 3 horses! Why is this? When a groom spends every day with a horse they get to know them better than the back of their hand. This close connection between horsemen and horse allows us to catch any health issues that may pop up quickly to prevent a bigger problem. In addition, working with a consistent person eases the process of transitioning from the racetrack to the stallion barn.

2. The Spendthrift office consists of 18 people which includes our stallion team, accounting team, marketing team, and our broodmare and yearling manager. In addition, we have about 45 people between our broodmare, yearling, stallion, and maintenance divisions.

3. We prep all of our own horses for the sales.

4. 90% of our broodmares are bred to Spendthrift Stallions.

5. We house over 15 families on the farm.
